We are honored to welcome Alexandra Zalis to the Artistic Voices team. A celebrated retired opera singer, Alexandra graced stages throughout the Pacific Rim, delivering over 129 performances for royalty, impresarios, universities, and captivated audiences. Her most cherished performances include arias from Puccini’s La Bohème and Madame Butterfly, as well as soprano arias from Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s The Creation, and Mendelssohn’s Elijah, performed with the Fort Lauderdale Chorus and Orchestra. She also performed alongside the Fort Lauderdale Chamber Singers, collaborating with renowned composer Frederick Loewe of Lerner & Loewe fame.

Beyond the stage, Alexandra dedicated nearly four decades to music education in Broward County, where she directed five musical productions a year, each showcasing the talents of over 300 students. Her legacy as an educator is marked by creativity, excellence, and a passion for nurturing young talent — earning her the distinction of "Teacher of the Year" five times.

In addition to her performance and teaching accolades, Alexandra is a multi-instrumentalist, having passed performance examinations on 16 different orchestral instruments upon graduating as a music major. She is also an inventor, holding the copyright to a musical game she developed to make music learning interactive and fun.

Her leadership extended into advocacy for music education as President of the Broward County Music Teachers Association, overseeing music programs across 260 schools. Today, Alexandra continues to stay deeply involved in the cultural and civic life of South Florida as a member of five Chambers of Commerce, Soroptimist International Davie, and the Opera Society of Florida Grand Opera.
